Crabby/grateful

My former boss, Richard, loves to quote his grandma - "It's hard to be crabby and grateful at the same time."  And they are so so right.  So instead of crabby, I'll choose grateful.  I'm a working singer with gigs ahead of me, I have a lovely and wonderful husband coming to visit me this weekend, and I have a belly full of delicious food.  Everything is temporary, especially in this profession.

I think it's time for another 30 days of gratitude.

1.  Karl, my icebat uglydoll.  He was a birthday present from my hunny.  Because of his beautifully engineered flatness, he fits into any suitcase or backpack with ease.  He's a great travel companion.

2.  Refillable travel sizes with my stuff from home.  If I smell like home, I feel less homesick.

3.  Gorgeous green raincoats on sale on a rainy day.  It was true adult love from a block and a half away.

4.  Skype.  For working on the edition with my copyist (read: husband) and getting to look at his sweet face every day.  Also for seeing Sammy's ears perk up when he hears my voice.

5.  For the first two outdoor runs of this season.  I have shoes that don't hurt my feet or shins, and I have time in the mornings to go out and get my groove back.  Every footfall is a step toward better fitness, happiness, and sanity.

That said, Karl and I are going to curl up and work on the edition.  Because scene VII isn't going to format itself!
