a long december

December might have been the longest month ever. I went through the rigmarole with the audition process, the emotional ups and downs of my DMA seminar final project, the constant physical and mental fatigue of the concert season, and, oh wait, I almost forgot, I got married.

The weather has been awful. Snow, slush, ice, and sometimes it comes in sideways under your hat. All last week, I was hoping and praying for nice weather so we could take pictures outside on the porch of Trinity and my prayers were answered! It was about 50, sunny, blue sky, and just warm enough for me to not freeze to pieces in my wedding dress.

The music was perfect. The flowers were perfect. The tuxes fit everyone on the first try. And all essential personnel showed up before the ceremony started. The cake was delicious (and if anyone wants some, we still have LOTS left over) and everyone had a good time, and I was so glad we tasted the champagne before we bought it becaue by the time it's all said and done, you will WANT to drink a few glasses of champagne.

The families got along famously, my little brother and Frank's nephew Aaron are the same age so they stayed up late playing video games until 3am, and one of my sisters-in-law made me sniffle by calling me her sister. Sorry if I'm goopy, but I've only had one brother and he's great, but I've always wanted a sister. And now I have FOUR. Yikes.

Must attend to the puppy, he has the hiccups. How do dogs get hiccups anyway?

I'll leave you with the very cute Hindrichs family picture.

No clue. Hoping it's a phase.

Aunt Marie only emailed me the ones before the ceremony - there are more to come, I promise!
