Yesterday was non-stop pie day with my Korean accompanist, Jihye. She is, approximately, the size of my pinky finger and was bowled over by the enthusiastic welcome from Sam, the gregarious chocolate lab. Having never made pie, Jihye wanted to take part in the American experience that is Thanksgiving preparation. After many initial mishaps, we finished the evening with two apple pies and two pecan pies, and a lot of leftover praline filling. Mmmm....praline filling.
As an addendum, Jihye also learned the 'twelve days of beer' thanks to my other houseguest, Jason. Oh the joys of cross-culture exchange.
