Just got home from Germany on Monday, still completely uncertain as to when I am supposed to eat and sleep but steadily moving back toward the norm of Eastern Standard Time. Last night, when I got off the train and walked up the platform, I smelled that fantastic smell that absolutely screams FALL!! That wonderful smell of burning leaves. Being from the South, we don't get much of that action before say November, but it's mid-September here and I'm wearing my new festive purple coat and a scarf. Huzzah! I'm sure that the novelty of this will wear off when it's April and I am still wearing a coat, but just for now, I think happy thoughts and let my coat blow open in the wind, just because the breeze feels nice.
Going to see the in-laws this weekend for their 50th wedding anniversary. Should be a good time, and I get to meet more of the cousins who could not come to our wedding. Not to mention the added bonus of being near that elusive restaurant across the bay, Hemingway's. When I am old and hopefully not too wrinkled (sunscreen is the way forward!) I want to be able to walk out on my porch and see the water. I would prefer that it was the Gulf of Mexico, but if it has to be the Atlantic, I can be okay with that.
And to Drew, who so successfully killed my nostalgia buzz on the last post, I have pictures of you with the wallet chain AND the highlights in your hair AND your hiking boots with big white socks. So there mister.

Oh my GOSH. I will mail you a scanner if I can please, please just feast my eyes upon that photo.
The highlights and hiking SHOES I remember, but the chain? I'll need proof.
so I typed the URL to your blog into my browser, but in my sleep-deprived stupor, put "blogpsot" instead of "blogspot" and some weird Bible site came up.
Just thought you should know.
